The boat of this project was developed in 2015 by specialists of JSC "Yaroslavl Shipbuilding Plant" and is a modern modification of the famous boat project 376 Yaroslavets, mass-produced for a long time, including for the Navy. The tactical and technical characteristics of the boat compared to its predecessor have been significantly improved, while maintaining such an important advantage as the ability to deliver the boat by rail.

The boat of the project 02221 fully meets all modern requirements for comfort and habitability: a large cabin with a corner sofa and a galley corner, an additional bathroom and shower for the team, as well as a captain's cabin with a separate bathroom and shower. This boat is equipped with a YAMZ-238R engine manufactured by the Yaroslavl Motor Plant.

The boats of this project are designed to transport personnel and small cargo within the internal and external raids and at home ports.

Boat RK-1350 laid down at the Yaroslavl Shipyard, launched on 22 July 2021, commissioned on 10 December.
